Twiggy Before Her Recent Adoption

 

 

Twiggy with her newly found companion Riesling

Twiggy found a wonderful new permanent home with the Farnham family who report on her progress as follows:

 
"We added Twiggy to our family six weeks ago, and now we cannot remember nor
imagine our family without her.... Twiggy is a sweet, loving and tender 4
year old female, and while we are her third family, this is her forever
home.  Twiggy has been a wonderful "big sister" to Riesling our 1 year old
Weimeraner.  She is incredibly tolerant of Riesling's energy, play and unwanted
advances.  Twiggy loves the doggie toy box and can entertain herself for
hours tossing a toy around.  Twiggy and Riesling spend whole evenings
stealing each others toys (even when we buy them each the same toy!) and
entertain us with their antics.  One of Twiggy's passions is going for car
rides, every time we go outside she wants to go in the car, she actually
smiles when sitting on the back seat, wind hitting her face and all the
local drive-thrus  know her.  She loves to sleep on our feet while we sit
on the couch, loves any affection and even enjoys her baths.  Twiggy is very
motivated by food, and continues to learn more skills and manners around the
house.  When we cook on the grill she "guards" the grill so the food does
get away!  She wasn't exactly "twiggy" when we got her, weighing in at a
hefty 85 pounds, but with her increased exercise she has already slimmed
down to 79 pounds, well on her way to a healthy weight.  We feel so
fortunate to have added her to our family and really encourage people to
adopt older Weimers, they really are the best of the breed."
