NERO

Nero was rescued as part of a litter that was turned in by a backyard breeder.  He was sick and malnourished and struggled to live.  He survived, and was adopted by a family in New Jersey who was happy to have him become a member of their household.  His rescue coordinator Yolanda reported that Nero actually chased off a bear that had approached the four year old daughter of his new family who was playing on the deck with Nero nearby.  Needless to say, the two have become fast friends (that is the four year old and Nero - the bear left).
